Something that I’ve been doing with our kids for awhile now is starting our day with a word of the day and a thought of the day.

These are different empowering or motivational or inspirational or character-building ideas to focus on throughout our day. As they get older they’ve come to enjoy this part of our day even more, as they try to outdo each other with examples or ways in which they could apply these featured attitudes in their day.

Not a bad ploy on mom’s part!

I thought I’d start sharing these with you here… just in case you’re interested!

Yesterday’s word was “Appreciation”. We talked about what it means to be appreciative and to have a grateful outlook in life. That blended into the thought of the day which was “be thankful and appreciative for everything you have, otherwise why would you ever be granted more?”

I’ve never heard so many thank-you’s and gracious comments in a day!
