“7 Essential Keys to Shedding Toxic Fat and Unwanted Pounds… The Wellness Way!”

coming-soon-BLUE

coming-soon-BLUEI’d like to apologize for not being as regular with my postings as usual in the past week or so.

I’ve been spending most of my “Dr. Mom focused time” on a book I’m hoping to complete within the next week ~ “7 Essential Keys to Shedding Toxic Fat and Unwanted Pounds… The Wellness Way!”

(By the way, this highly inaccurate, delusional fantasy I had of having MORE time once the kids were in school is a JOKE!! Sheesh!)

I love this book! It’s not the huge, life transformation type of guide like my other project, “Life by Design… The Wellness Way” (due to go to print any day now! Woo hoo!) No, this fat loss book is a focused, concise, action-oriented guide to success that is rich with content I haven’t seen in any other “weight loss” book on the market.

When you approach any health topic from the perspective of the Wellness Paradigm and The Wellness Formula, everything’s different… everything makes FAR more sense… and everything works!!

When you follow these steps, you WILL shed excess pounds of toxic fat! Oh, and you’ll get healthier in the process… bonus!!

Once I’m finished with the final 3 chapters, I’ll be recording the entire book (and throwing in some ‘extras’) so that the package will include a CD to listen to as well.

Fast forward a few weeks: I’m so happy and confident with the content of this book that it is actually going to be transformed into an exclusive 6-month members-only club… complete with coaching/mentoring calls and lessons with me and LOTS of strategies and tools for success! I can’t wait!

2010 is going to be a breakthrough year for so many people!!

Anyhow… I’ll do my best to keep you posted on the exercise, nutrition and mindset news and happenings around here, but if you don’t hear from me quite so much in the next few days, you’ll know why!

Nutritional Choices ~ The Good, The Bad & The Ugly!

Another daily food diary:

(One thing I’ve forgotten to mention so far is nutritional supplements. At this point, I only take 2 things: fish oil and a probiotic. Both are from Innate Choice and I believe are a superior choice because of their unsurpassed quality – purity and sufficiency. They have a completely organic multivitamin & mineral that has just been released… I’ll start taking that now, too.)

OK, to the daily intake log…

Early morning: 1/2 cup of kefir, a couple bites of banana and 1.5 cups of coffee

(Pure & Sufficient): Organic kefir with no scary, toxic sweeteners added. Good amount of protein to start the day with more efficient metabolism and blood sugar, elevated mood, etc. Organic banana = fresh fiber. Coffee is organic with organic, real cream.

(Toxic & Deficient): There’s still the sugar content argument re: the kefir. Coffee does not create better health. The cream is pasteurized.

Later in the morning, with the kids: strawberries, blueberries, 2 eggs w/ cheese (they also had a piece of toast with butter and almond butter)

(P&S): organic fruit, organic and free-range eggs, organic cheese, organic bread, organic & grass-fed butter (a healthy, saturated fat… yes, I said “healthy”!), almond butter is a nice bit of protein

(T&D): cheese wasn’t raw, bread for the toast wasn’t sprouted

Late morning: another 1/2 cup kefir, organic grapes

(both P&S)

Late lunch: 1/2 of a turkey wrap with lettuce & tomato and German mustard, and carrots & broccoli w/ hummus… again, the offspring stole the other 1/2 of my wrap! (the kids also each had an organic chicken hot dog with organic ketchup for dipping)

(P&S): free-range turkey with no antibiotics, nitrates/nitrites, hormones/steroids, etc., The same is true of the hot dog. Ezekial sprouted tortilla wrap, organic lettuce, veggies and hummus. Organic mustard, no sugar. Good combination of fresh fiber, protein, healthy fats (in the meat and hummus)

(T&D): ummm… not much. There’s some argument that the processing of the turkey deli meat and the hot dogs is not good. Far better than conventional, though. The ketchup has organic brown rice syrup as a sweetener… converts to sugar in the bloodstream pretty quickly… it’s a stretch, though!

Dinner: At my (current) favorite restaurant! (“Mind, Body, Spirits” in Rochester)

I had a Mediterranean Romaine Salad:  Romaine lettuce, grilled chicken breast, grilled zucchini and peppers, feta cheese and homemade dressing of olive oil and herbs. Hibiscus white iced tea. Oh, and a piece of bread dipped in olive oil before dinner arrived.

(The kids shared an organic, grass-fed burger with lettuce, tomatoes and peppers, and a very small cabbage salad. They also each had a few “fries”… organic potatoes cooked with no trans fats/hydrogenated oils or synthetic vegetable oils. It’s a BIG “tasty toxin” special event for them… ‘cuz they don’t get fries at other restaurants!)

(P&S): free-range, organic chicken, all organic & locally grown veggies, organic cheese, organic olive oil dressing and herbs grown on site. Organic, unsweetened iced tea. Fresh baked, organic bread.

(T&D): The bread. Organic or not, it has negative effects on insulin and inflammation. The same is true of the bun for the kids’ burger. Their fries were baked in olive oil… olive oil shouldn’t be heated like that, organic or not.

Late night: organic red grapes
